Strengthening Systems
& Engaging Communities

The quality of children’s learning and education depends on their home, school, community and even nationwide education systems. ChildFund works across all those levels, with special emphasis on early childhood development, protection and basic education access. We partner with local organizations and ministries of education in all our program countries to strengthen national and regional education systems and engage families in establishing community leadership for learning.

Building a Foundation for Lifelong Learning

Education

Education

All children have the right to equitable opportunities to access education, succeed academically and complete school. So we tackle harmful gender norms through teacher and caregiver training, and we help children and youth learn to advocate for equal rights. We also support teachers, parents and students to build safe learning environments free from violence in and around schools and at home, partnering with local and national governments to make this a reality for all children.

Early Childhood Development

Early Childhood Development

The period before birth until age 5 is critical for children’s development and well-being — in childhood and beyond. When children lack adequate nutrition, health care, learning opportunities and safe, loving homes, they can't reach their full potential in life. Early childhood development programming provides parents and caregivers build the skills and access the resources they need to care for their children in the early years so that they can thrive.
