Our Focus Areas

  • Health

We implement programs that support nutrition, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health education, infectious disease prevention, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) initiatives.

  • Education & Learning

Our programs help families create conditions where their youngest children can learn and grow at their fullest potential. For older children, our holistic, community-based approach ensures access to quality education in safe and inclusive environments.

  • Youth Livelihoods

Largely but not solely focused on youth, our approach promotes agency, skill building, healthy relationships and civic engagement so they can participate in the decision-making that affects their lives.

  • Protecting Children

Strengthening community-based child protection systems, implementing programs to support psychosocial well-being and advocating for change at local and national levels, we help children stay safe wherever they are — at home, at school and online.

  • Children in Crisis

Our humanitarian response approaches create impact with children, youth and families wherever they are in the migration cycle: at risk of migration, in transit and needing humanitarian assistance, and starting over in host communities or after returning home.

  • Climate Action

Through programs that emphasize climate adaptation and environmental care, we’re inspiring today’s young minds to be an active part of the global climate conversation.

Advocacy

Advocacy

For more children to grow up healthy, educated and safe, we advocate for systems change through legislation and policy that put children and youth first.

There’s a problem of sexual abuse. ... In case of abuse, I’ve learned not to stay quiet, but to speak up. It helps me to not keep quiet when someone is bothering me or tries to fool around with me or to abuse me, overstepping the line.

A continuum of care for children on the move: For a child, being forced to leave their home means the loss of their connections with most of what makes it possible for them to survive, let alone thrive.
