Luis is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Rosana, and with three brothers (one is his twin), in a small rural village located in the interior of the state of Ceara, which is a hot and remote region. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his children. Rosana receives a very small family allowance from the federal government, which is far from enough to meet basic needs. Luis is active, playful and affectionate. He likes riding a bike and playing with toy cars and building blocks. Luis is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends nursery school and loves painting and coloring. He says that he will be a firefighter when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Luis and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
