Dilaksha Shri lives with her parents in a peaceful village in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, nestled in the scenic Nuwara Eliya District. Their modest home, with cement walls and a clay-tile roof, provides shelter but life remains a constant challenge. While they have Tap water and a toilet, the family struggles to meet basic needs like providing nutritious meals and managing education expenses. Her father works as a full-time cook, earning only $800 annually, while her mother stays at home to care for the household. Despite their hard work, their income is insufficient to cover all necessities, leaving them struggling to feed their child three times a day and save for her education. As Dilaksha grows, her parents dream of a brighter future for her. They hope for a sponsor who can ease their burden and help provide the opportunity for education. With a sponsor’s support, Dilaksha can access the tools for a better future, breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for success and hope in her life.
