Esnart and her mother live with the grandmother in a small two roomed house made of mud with grass thatched roof. The family depends on subsistence farming as a source of income. They grow maize being the staple food crop, sorghum and cassava. They also grow some vegetables which they sell at the local market to raise their source of income. The small income earned which is about $550 annually does not provide the family with daily needs. Esnart is not in school due to age and financial inadequacy.
