This is Perla. She belongs to a needy family. The father is absent. The mother works as a house maid and earns approximately 5 USD per day. Living on this very low income and under these circumstances is not easy. Perla speaks Totonaco and Spanish. She attends preschool, at an upper grade. Perla and her mother live in a house property of some relatives that is not connected to the sewer system. They dont have a stove and refrigerator. Perlas diet includes coffee, milk, cookies, tortillas, soy, vegetable soup, rice, eggs, beans and lentils. Unfortunately, shes obese. Perla enjoys Christmas attending mass and going to posadas.
