Panida or Namnueng is a pitiful girl born into a needy family that lacks various opportunities in many aspects. The family consists of great-grandfather, great-grandmother, paternal grandfather, grandmother, relative, and Namnueng. Her family makes a living as a farmer and the farmland they work on is a small plot; her father and mother then went to work at a construction site elsewhere, and she is in care of her grandparents. During an off-farm season her grandfather also works as a construction labour to feed the family, he works hard both in the village and the village nearby but the employment is uncertain. If he does not get hired, the income is lacking.
