Dickson is a jovial young boy from Turkana County in Northern Kenya. He lives with his parents, four sisters and two brothers. They live in a palm thatched roofed hut with mud walls that leaks during the rainy period. This poses a health risk to the family and the child who is very young making him vulnerable to respiratory diseases like pneumonia. The family lives in a communal land, as they do not own land. Both parents are illiterate and as a result, they cannot acquire formal employment. The mother is the main provider in the family. She weaves mats and brooms for sale to support the family. At times, the family gets relief food, which supplements their diet. The family’s annual income is below US $360, which is not sufficient to meet the family’s basic needs. As a result, his mother came to the office to seek for support to secure his future. Dickson is in school. He likes playing with toys. Dickson would like to become a driver when he grows up. Through your support, his life and that of the family will improve tremendously.
