Pimorn or Chalor a miserable girl was born in an abjectly needy family who lacks of various opportunities in many aspects. She lives with her father, mother and two older brothers in an old house with dilapidated condition and unsafe. They grow rice and corn for a living, the rice crops would be kept for home consumption only and corns would be for sale and it is the main source of family income. Their farming is much dependent upon forces of nature; if it rained well, the crop yields would be sufficient for family to eat all year round but if facing up against natural disaster, landslide or drought, the yields might be damaged and not saleable. During an off-farm season her father and mother would work as wage earners to feed the family, they would do every job they could find in the village or anywhere they got hired.
