Foday is a lovely boy who lives with his parents and two sisters in a small farming village located in the interior northern region of Sierra Leone. They all dwell in an unfinished house built with mud bricks and roofed with old zinc. The father is a small-scale farmer who cultivates rice and other foodstuffs like yams, cassava and potato while the mother sells kola nuts in the local market. Their combined monthly earnings are around a US98 Dollars which is not enough to provide for their most basic needs. Their source of water is obtaining from an open well about one kilometre away and also exposes the family to water borne diseases. Foday is a smart boy and attending in one of the primary schools in the community. In the evening, he studies with his sisters using a solar light. He also helps out at home by serving water. He loves to sing and dance traditional music when they relax during moonlight nights. Support from sponsorship will contribute to make a remarkable difference in his life and family.
