Wendy is a young girl who lives with her parents in a rural community in the southeastern part of Mozambique. The region has a tropical climate with different seasons. The region has a temperate climate, with plenty of rain and moderate temperatures all year. The house was built using materials from the local community. This demonstrates their unwavering commitment to sustainability and supporting the local economy. The house is lit by a kerosene lamp since there is no electricity. A well is a way to ensure a constant supply of water, which is essential for survival. The fact that parents who grow their own crops to feed their families struggle to make ends meet is obvious. Wendy is unable to access basic necessities such as a balanced diet, which is proof of this. Wendy is still young to attend school, but she has already made her future clear: she wants to be a nurse. In her spare time, she participates in extracurricular activities such as tending to her garden and helps around the house. The ChildFund sponsorship program is designed to facilitate access to community resources, offering opportunities for growth and development.
