Gael is a very young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Daniela, and with a brother, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his children. Daniela tries to earn a living by cleaning houses when available; her low income, however, is far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of her family. Gael is active, cheerful and playful. He likes playing with toy cars. Gael is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He is still too young to attend school. The family is needy and through your support Gael and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
