Maimouna also dearly called Mai by her relatives, her siblings and their parents live with the extended family members in a large house with its eight rooms made of concrete. They have access to running water and electricity supplies. Luckily everyone in the house is ready to help each other out. Mai’s father is a laborer. His irregular earnings are not more than US $1,200 in a year. He finds it difficult to correctly satisfy the basic needs of his family. The mother keeps the house in shift with the other women in the family. They do their best to provide two meager meals daily. Cooing for lunch is a must, but breakfast and dinner are not provided every day. Maimouna is receiving ECD at home. She is well looked after by her relatives, but an extra support from a caring sponsor will hopefully enable this little girl to benefit from the Federation’s valuable services in the fields of education and health.
