Matildah lives with her mother a sister and three brothers in Tigwilizane community in Luangwa distric located about 275 kilometers from Lusaka city the capital of Zambia. Matildahs mother is a local farmer who grows maize, beans and pumpkins at a small scale mainly for home consumption and a little surplus for sale. Her mother also works in other peoples fields in order to earn some income for meeting some of the basic needs. The familys crop yields have fallen due to poor rains attributed to climate change. Hence, the familys annual income is less than US$300 and hardly meet all their basic needs. Matildah is currently attending preschool at a nearby school and her mothers dream is for her to be educated and be able to support her own family. Your support will go a long way in helping Matildah have a better life.
