Mariama is a lovely young girl who lives with her parents and 3 sisters in a rural community in the west coast region of the Gambia. Currently, she is not attending any formal education, but her parents are taking care of her. She enjoys smiling and playing with dolls. Her parents work as seasonal farmers, mainly growing crops for both consumption and income generation. However, the income they earn is not enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Mariama needs support from a sponsorship program to access basic health and educational services.
