Shelamae and her family are living happily together in the house of their maternal parents, located near the port. They buy water from a peddler who roams around the village. They have connected electricity from their neighbor and share the monthly bill. The father is a laborer, while the mother is a vendor. Despite financial limitations, the couple is doing their best to provide for their children and send them to school.Shelamae, or Mae for short, is the third youngest child in the family. She is a preschooler who can pronounce and recognize primary colors, letters, numbers, and shapes. Mae is healthy and well. Although she is a shy child, she is able to make friends with other little girls her age. She loves playing with dolls and plastic kitchen toys. Mae aspires to be a teacher in the future.
