Mustapha is a young Sierra Leonean boy who lives with his parents in the eastern part of Sierra Leone. Their simple self-built home has mud brick walls, rough cement floors, and a zinc roof. It also has a tiny bathroom. His parents try to earn a living through small-scale farming, which is their only source of livelihood. Their annual income is approximately US$175, but it's not enough to meet the basic needs of the family. The family has benefited from the ChildFund program, which included community meetings on the use of water purifier sachets, helping them access clean drinking water in their community. Mustapha has two brothers. He enjoys playing with domestic animals around their compound, like cats and dogs. Despite the poor living conditions and diet, he is considered to be in good health. The family also benefited from treated bed nets supplied by the program. They are in need, and with support, Mustapha and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects related to health, recreation, education, and nutrition.
