Tamba is living with his parents in a remote village in the northern Province of Sierra Leone. The family lives in a mud brick house roofed with old zinc that leaks when it rains. Tamba is exposed to cold during the rainy season that makes him experience frequent fever attacks. His father is a farmer who grows upland rice, cassava and groundnuts using local tools. This hardly help them to cultivate on a large portion of land. They earn very low annual income from the sales of their produce. Mother practices petty trading selling raw fish in nearby villages. The family annual income estimated at US$ 372.00 is insufficient to cater for their basic needs. They depend on a single meal per day. Tamba is fun of playing with local toys made up of local materials. With sponsorship he will grow up to become a healthy and confident child.
