Joan is a shy, humble girl who lives in North Eastern Uganda with both parents and sibling. They sleep in a small grass thatched hut made of mud and wattle walls with packed dirt floor. Her favorite game is rope skipping. She attends school and her dream is to become an engineer. This dream can only become a reality with availability of funds for her education. Her family purely depends on subsistence farming which forms the family major livelihood. They grow crops like cassava, ground nuts, sweet potatoes, sim-sim and green vegetables mainly for home consumption. However, this area is very much affected by unpredictable weather conditions like prolonged dry spell and infertile soils. The family monthly income is less than US 10 dollars which is not enough to cater for all their needs especially clothing and health. Your kind sponsorship will be a blessing to Joan and her entire family.
