Prucila is a humble girl who lives in North Eastern part of Uganda with both parents and siblings. The family practices subsistence farming growing crops like cassava, millet, beans, sim-sim, groundnuts and maize but due to soil infertility as a result of poor farming methods, poor yields are always experienced and this has resulted to reduced income levels in the family with less than an average of US 11 dollars per month. The family major source of water for drinking is the borehole whereas kerosene is the source of lighting. Prucila and the family sleep in a house made of mud walls and wattle with packed dirt floors. She is attending school at the kindergarten and wishes to become a pilot in future but for fear of hunger, she attends school irregularly. Her parents cannot afford to pack for her snacks. We are hopeful that your support to this child through sponsorship will enable the family to have access to clean water and help the child to acquire essential educational needs.
