Anne is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her mother, Antonia, and maternal grandmother, Viviane, in a small community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Water is carried from an artesian well. Electricity is available. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his child. Antonia works as an administrative assistant and her earnings are far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of the family. Anne is playful, obedient and intelligent. She loves playing hopscotch and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. Anne is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends a local public elementary school and her favorite subject is Math. Her wish is to be a firefighter when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Anne and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
