Mayerly is a joyful, playful and lively girl who grows up in the city of Oruro, western part of Bolivia. She goes to school and likes her sports classes. She likes to play with her dolls and does children common activities like jumping rope, playing tag, and chasing each other around. She lives with her parents and 3 siblings in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. Her father is a mechanic and earns a modest income. Her mother is a street vendor. They make around US $ 342.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
