Raphael is one of the needy children who live with his parents in Tigwilizane community in Luangwa district. His parents are subsistence farmers who grow rain fed crops such as maize and pumpkins, but the yields are quite low due to poor rainfall as the area is in a valley coupled with climate change. The family also practices winter cropping as they grow drought resistant corn along the stream as soon as the rains stops taking advantage of the moist soils. Raphaels family struggle to meet their basic needs as their annual income is approximately US$280. Raphael is still a young and does not go to school. However, he is expected to join school in 2023. His health is good and likes playing ball games with his friends. Sponsoring Rapheal will create build a strong foundation for his education and future.
