This is Jonathan. He is a sweet, joyful and smiley boy who grows up in the city of Oruro, nestled in the Andes Mountains. His main interest is to play with his sister. He is a bundle of joy and wonder. He lives with his parents and sister in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. They lack proper sanitation services and paved roads. Like most residents in his community, his parents earn a living through informal trading. They live by the day depending on what they sell. They make around US $ 289.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality for most Bolivian children, as they lack the necessary resources to grow. If nothing is done to change the situation, the story of this child will likely repeat itself.
