Rutielen is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Gilvander and Maria, in a rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Gilvander works as a day laborer in agriculture and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Rutielen is cheerful, polite and intelligent. She is called Ruti in the household. She helps her mom by putting her toys away. She loves playing house and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. She has a dog she is passionately fond of. Rutielen is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends nursery school and loves painting and coloring. The family is needy and through your support Rutielen and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
