Meet Salvador. He belongs to a humble family needing help. His father is a working-hard farmer that earns approximately $9 USD per day. His mother stays at home, taking care of Salvador and his elder brother. Living on just one low income is not easy, especially when the parents want to keep the children in good health. Salvador speaks Totonaco and Spanish. Hes not going to school yet, because hes too young. This family lives in a house made of wood and carton boards, without access to the sewer and drinking water systems. They dont own a refrigerator or a stove. Salvadors diet is based on coffee, milk, cookies, tortillas, beans, noodles, rice, chicken broth and some boiled vegetables. Against all odds, Salvador is thriving. He currently weighs 9.8 kg and is 0.74 m tall. His favorite celebration is the Children Day, because he accompanies his brother to school, plays with other kids and receives candy and toys.
