Madahi is a caring, playful and lively girl who has much fun playing with dolls. She grows up in the city of Oruro, western Bolivia, which is famous for its carnival. She attends primary school. She enjoys her math classes. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day. She lives with her mother and 3 siblings in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. Her mother works hard to make ends meet. Her mother is the sole provider. She is a street vendor. They make around US $ 200.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
