Jefferson is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Lindianne, and with one younger brother, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, ceramic tile floor and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his children. Lindianne receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Jefferson is affectionate, calm and intelligent. He helps his mom by making the beds and putting the toys away. His favorite pastimes include playing soccer and tag. He has a dog and a cat he is fond of. Jefferson is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends a local public school and his favorite subject is math. His big dream is to become a soccer player when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Jefferson and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
