Ramata is a smart and friendly little girl who lives with her family of ten people in a rural village in western part of The Gambia were recreation facilities are  lacking. She lives under the care of her mother. She is now attending nursery School in a nearby community. She likes playing locally made toys with peers and her  favorite food is beans soup with rice. Her future ambition is to be a teacher. Her parents are small-scale farmers who depend on the rain to make a living. They cultivate early maturing crop varieties for the family’s feeding and other basic needs, however, their income is too meager and cannot meet the demand of the family.
