Thiago grows up in the city of Oruro, nestled in the Andes Mountains at an elevation of over 3,700 meters above sea level. He is a joyful, lively and playful boy who has much fun playing football with his friends. He attends kindergarten. His favorite class is music. He dreams of becoming a teacher when he gets older. He lives with his parents and brother in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. His father earns a living as a bricklayer, while his mother runs the home. The family makes around US $ 343.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
