Lukas grows up in La Paz, nestled in the Andes Mountains at an elevation of over 3,600 meters above sea level. He is a lively, caring and creative boy who has much fun drawing. He attends preschool. He dreams of becoming a doctor when he gets older. His parents split. This Spanish-speaking boy lives with his mother in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. His father earns a living as a publicist while his mother is a hairstylist The family makes around US $ 285.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
