Yacuba is a cheerful little boy who lives with his parents including one sibling in a small village with a vast area of inland valley swamps. They dwell in a three bedroom mud bricks house with zinc roof. His father is a subsistence farmer who cultivates rice and other foodstuffs like yams and cassava which they sell to supplement the food at home while the mother sells local foodstuffs at the periodic market. The needs of Yacuba are therefore often neglected. He is attending in one of the schools about one kilometer away from his village. Yacuba is always punctual in school and loves doing role plays with his peers where he always demonstrates the responsibilities of parents in a home while playing with toys.
