Ruan is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Ellison and Micaele, and with two brothers (he is the middle child), on the outskirts of a municipality located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Ellison is unemployed at this time. The family receives a very small family allowance from the federal government, which is far from enough to meet basic needs. Ruan is shy, cheerful and intelligent. He likes keeping his hair a kind of long. He helps his mom by putting the toys away. He likes playing with toy cars. Ruan has recently been diagnosed as having autism spectrum disorder; he is under treatment with specialists (phonoaudiologist, psychologist, and occupational therapist). He attends nursery school and loves painting and coloring. The family is needy and through your support Ruan and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
