Mustapha lives with his parents including several siblings in a six bedroom mud bricks house roofed with old zinc. The father is a small scale farmer while the mother sells the locally brewed palm wine and also embarks on backyard vegetable gardening to cater for their children and other extended family members. Mustapha is healthy and always kept himself busy after school by competing with his equals in spelling words and addition of numbers. He is attending in one of the schools in the community and he is very clever in school. On weekends, Mustapha always assist in his little way in domestic work by fatching fire wood.
