Jian comes from a small and humble family. Despite facing financial challenges, their home is filled with love and laughter within its simple walls made of light materials. During nighttime, they used electricity for lighting, and their meals are cooked with firewood. The father works hard earning $120 monthly as a driver. He is supported by Jian’s mother who devotedly attends to the brood, their household needs and the meticulous budgeting of their limited income which often falls short of covering all their needs. They also raise hogs as an additional income for the family needs. They are thankful for the opportunity to be part of the sponsorship program to avail itself of its programs and services geared towards self-reliance. Jian, is the youngest in the family, is fondly called “YangYang”. She attends grade school, putting in her best effort. She contributes at home by sweeping the floor and washing dishes.
