Inocencia is a young girl who lives with her parents in the southeastern region of Mozambique. The region is characterized by a tropical climate, marked by high humidity and temperatures that can reach considerable heights. The local populace is renowned for its industriousness and for sustaining itself through agricultural practices and livestock husbandry. Despite their limited financial means, the residents have succeeded in maintaining warm and inviting living spaces. The house was constructed using local materials, including homemade concrete blocks and corrugated sheets. The mother is the primary breadwinner, working diligently to provide for the family. The father is seeking more work opportunities elsewhere. The family is currently exploring strategies to augment its livelihood, including growing crops on their land. Mircha has already enrolled in elementary school. Through her family, Inocencia will receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition and recreation through a sponsorship program.
