Yahel is a young Hispanic boy who lives with his family in the lower Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas on the US-Mexico border. Yahel is in good health. Through your support, he will be able to participate in a program that promotes love of reading, increases access to culturally appropriate bilingual books and engages parents in reading to children. For many children in the Valley, the books they receive are often the first books they have ever owned. He will also be able to participate in theme based fun-filled interactive activities that help build coping skills and resilience. He is attending school and the best part about being at school is being able to see his teachers. He likes to read Pete the Cat book series.
