This is Tadeo. Hes 4 years old and belongs to a humble family. His mother works hard as a house maid and earns approximately $200 USD per month. His father is absent and does not contribute to pay the expenses. Tadeo has three elder siblings. With this low income, its very difficult to put the food on the table and keep the children thriving. Tadeo speaks Mazahua and Spanish and attends preschool, 2nd grade. They live in a small house which has three rooms, a kitchen and one bathroom. They also have access to electricity, the sewer system and drinking water. Tadeos diet mainly consists of milk, rice, beans, some boiled vegetables, fruits, eggs, tortillas and chicken, when the budget allows it. Hes healthy and has been vaccinated against some of the main diseases that affect children. His favorite festivity is Christmas, because he likes to be surrounded by the family. He also plays hide and seek with his cousins and little sister.
