Lawrence is a chatty boy, hailing from North Eastern Uganda where he stays with his parents and seven siblings. They sleep in a grass that hut made of mud walls, wattle and packed dirt floor. He attends school at the kindergarten and his favourite subject is reading. He irregularly attends school due to the long distance he got to walk to school. When he is to go to school, he walks with his elder siblings who sometimes carry him on the back so that they can reach school in time. The family has no reliable source of income. They engage in subsistence farming for survival and earn less than US 10 dollars per month on average. This meagre and irregular income cannot cater for all the basic needs of Lawrence with his sibling. His health is good.
