Alhassan is a smart looking boy who is found of his grandmother. He lives with his parents and siblings in one of the deprived communities in the far North of Sierra Leone. They live in a family house of mud bricks, park dirt and no electricity for the family. Alhassan and cousins sleep on the local swart mat with no bed net that causes mosquito bite that exposes them to malaria. The family have to travel 3km to access the nearest health facilities which makes it difficult when someone is sick. The father a local farmer and also burn charcoal to add up to the family income. He grows crops like rice, maize, beans and other vegetables. The mother sells the produce of the market day called Lumor. They earn an income of less than US $ 340 that can only manage to provide few needs for the family leaving plenty unattended to. Alhassan cannot start school because the family have to spend more income on health issue. He is a well like child who enjoys playing football and running games of old motor bike tyres.
