Arianne is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Jose and Fabiana, and with one younger brother, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Jose works as a general helper at a local auto repair shop and the family receives a very small family allowance from the federal government. Arianne is intelligent, cheerful and affectionate. She helps her mom by washing the dishes and sweeping the floor. Her favorite pastimes include playing tag and hide-and-seek. Arianne is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends a local public elementary school and her favorite subject is History. Her big dream is to become a lawyer someday. The family is needy and through your support Arianne and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
