Mariana is a young Hispanic girl who lives with her family in the lower Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas on the US-Mexico border. Mariana is in good health. Through your support, she will be able to participate in a program that promotes love of reading, increases access to culturally appropriate bilingual books and engages parents in reading to children. For many children in the Valley, the books they receive are often the first books they have ever owned. She will also be able to participate in theme based fun-filled interactive activities that help build coping skills and resilience. She is attending school and the best part about school is being able to see her teachers. She likes to dance around and sing.
