Taylla is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Romario and Cicera, and with a younger sister and an older brother, in a rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Romario works as a day laborer in agriculture and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Taylla is intelligent and cheerful. She helps her mom by putting away items like toys and dishes. She loves playing house and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. She has a dog and a cat she is fond of. Taylla is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends a public school and loves Art. She says that she will be a teacher when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Taylla and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
