Manuela is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Wesley and Flavia, and with a sister, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Minas Gerais. Their simple home, which is lent to them, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a concrete slab ceiling. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Wesley works as a general helper for a local construction firm and his earnings are far from enough to meet even the most basic needs of his family. Manuela is communicative, cheerful and playful. Her pet name is Manu. She helps her mom by putting away items like toys and dishes. She loves playing house and with dolls in the company of other girls her age. She has a dog, a cat, and a cockatiel she is fond of. Manuela is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She says that she will be a baker when she grows up. The family is needy and through your support Manuela and her family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
