Miguel is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Glaucia, and two sisters, in a rural community in the interior of the state of Ceara. Their simple home has brick walls, ceramic tile floors and a clay-tiled roof. It is self-built and has a tiny bathroom. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his children. Glaucia receives a very small family allowance from the federal government, which is far from enough to meet basic needs. Miguel is intelligent, polite and affectionate. He helps his mom by filling the bottles with water. His favorite pastimes include playing soccer and tag. Miguel is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends a local public school and his favorite subject is math. His big dream is to become a professional soccer player when he grows up. Through your support Miguel and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
