Maya is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Uilles and Maria, and with a brother, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara, Northeastern Brazil. Their simple home has brick walls, ceramic tile floors and a clay-tiled roof. It is self-built and has a tiny bathroom. Uilles works as a maintenance technician and earns very low wages. Maya is sweet, intelligent and talkative. She likes playing with dolls and teddy bears. Maya is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She is still too young to attend school. Through your support Maya and her family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
