Mercyline is a joyful young girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She lives with her mother, father and one brother. They live in thatched roofed hut and earthed plastered floor with mud walls. They live in a communal land. The family gets their water from a community hand pump whose water is saline and in scarce thus predisposing the child to water borne diseases. The family depends on mat weaving and collecting firewood as the main economic activity. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to support family basic needs. For this reason, her mother decided to approach the office seeking for further assistance. Mercyline is enrolled in a nearby school and she enjoys counting and singing games. While at home, she likes playing with toys with her friends. She has not been assigned any house chores because she is still young. Mercyline’s mother would like her to become a teacher in future. Your support will bring a lasting change to her life.
