Melvin is a charming girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She lives with her mother, two sisters and one brother. The family lives in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. They fetch water from a river which is saline and not clean for human consumption and thus predisposing the child to water-borne diseases. Her mother is the breadwinner of the family who practices charcoal burning and basket weaving as a livelihood supplementation activity. However, the annual income generated from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Her mother therefore decided to approach the office seeking assistance. Melvin is not enrolled in school since she has not attained school going age. She enjoys playing with shakers. Her mother would like her to become a news anchor when she grows up and help other vulnerable people in the society. She is not assigned any home chores because she is still young. Your support will greatly change her life.
