Simon is a jovial young boy who lives in Turkana County in Northern part of Kenya. He lives with his father and mother, three brothers and one sister. They live in a hut thatched with grass on the roof and smeared with mud on the walls in a communal land. They fetch water from the nearby local hand pump. The water from the hand pump is saline and not good for drinking. However, the water is not sufficient because the whole community uses the same one pump. The main economic activity practised by the family is charcoal burning. His bother does casual work to supplement the family income. However the annual income generated from all the economic activities is below US$ 360 which hardly meets their basic needs as a family. As a result the family approached the office for assistance. Simon is not schooling since he is not of school going age. Simon loves playing football with hi brothers at home. His parents wish him to grow in good health and be a professional footballer in future and play for his country Kenya.
