Lilian is a calm girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana county. She lives with her mother, father, three brothers and three sisters. They live in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. the family draws their water from a community hand pump whose water is saline and not enough for domestic use as it is depended upon by many households as the main source of water. Her mother is the breadwinner of the family who depends on mat weaving activity and charcoal burning. However, the annual income generated from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to meet all the family basic needs. For this reason, her mother decided to approach the office seeking for further assistance. Lilian is not enrolled in school since she has not attained school going age. While at home, Lilian likes playing with improvised toys and shakers. Her parents would like her to become a nurse when she grows up.
